But I do have BIG news that is worth a blog-post! WE'RE TRAVELING ON APRIL 16TH! Finally after a year of international adoption - we are at the finish line! I can hardly believe that in less than a month, I'm going to be a Mom to FOUR....holy-cow, that sounds like a lot of kids!
Some other neat news from this week was a letter I received from a student from New York who visited the kid's orphanage on a mission trip earlier in the month. Here is her note:
Hi Amy,
I just returned from Ethiopia, I was with the Emma Willard High School girls that Susan took. I just wanted to let you know that I met your daughter, Lydia, and she is such an amazing girl. I think you will enjoy her so much. She is a beautiful and caring girl, always pleasant, and I was amazed at how well she spoke english. I had a great time on the trip and getting to know Lydia was one of the highlights. I would love to keep in touch with her when she comes home. Ask her if she wants to keep in touch via email and I would love to write her. She remembered me as the "skinny one".lol. But my name is Jackie and I'm a junior in high school.
If you send your email address, I can get my mom to email a bunch of pictures that I took of her and I. I'm going to try to put them on snapfish but don't know if I'll be able to figure them out. Lydia is really good friends with Haregwin, and they are in a lot of the pictures together.
Thanks!
Jackie
Time after time, I am reminded how special these kids are....how smart, beautiful and kind. Todd and I keep pinching ourselves and thanking God that we have been given such wonderful biological children and now...adopted children as well.
Well so long for now - my next post will be as a family of SIX!
Blessings,
Amy

WAHOOOOOOOO!
ReplyDeleteAmy that is huge and exciting news! Praise God for the precious update too!
Lilly is doing amazing! She can't wait for Lydia to be home.
Know that we think of you often and are praying for your trip!
Love and blessings,
Jill
If you need anything before your trip let me know! The photos are PRECIOUS!
ReplyDeleteGlad I came back to see if you posted any!
Love,
Jill
Love the update and those kids! Can't wait to be there at the airport when they arrive! My friends are adopting Hargowin that the student mentions. They live about 40 minutes North of me. Traci that you met is very good friends with them. They are waiting for their homestudy approval from DCFS like we are. :( Can't wait until dinner next weekend. You still need to pick a place.
