It's now been FIVE whole weeks since our Dossier was sent to Ethiopia! We should be assigned a court-date any day now....we're praying for sooner than later! This means that once our Dossier goes before the courts and hopefully passes, we will be able to schedule travel to go get Lydia and Biniam once and for all....forever!
We have been so busy around here getting prepared. Katie has moved to the basement; which was definitely not a concession - she LOVES it down there! It's like her own little apartment. Lydia has taken over Katie's old room. We repainted, new comfy-cozy bedcovers, artwork, pillows, etc. Jack and I layed in there a few weeks ago imagining what she is going to think of her new "digs"....we decided she will probably enjoy having her own room but might miss her bunk-mates at Layla House, therefore we may have to have some in-house sleep overs for a while!
Jack and Biniam are all set too. New loft bed, dressers for each of them and a newly organized closet! I was so worried about space and everyone ended up having plenty of room! I feel sort of sinful even thinking just for a moment that we would be cramped, especially after Christmas and considering how Jesus came into the world....we have so much in so many areas of our life....space included! It made me realize that for those families considering adoption, this may be one thing keeping them from pulling the trigger.......take it from me, it's not a valid excuse!!! It's amazing what you can do with the space you have if you really want to!
